The Department of Informatics of the University of Lisbon, Faculdade de Ciências has approximately 45 professors, 9 monitors, 6 staff members, 52 doctoral students, 294 Master Students and 1172 Undergraduates (we accept around 150 new undergraduates every year).
Department leading Research at the National Level
Department faculty submitted 40 proposals as PIs in the Informatic Engineering domain to FCT's last call in an unprecedented demonstration of the department's researchunits sustained growth in the past 10 years. FCT is the Portuguese National Science Foundation.
Marco de Sá Homes the Best Student Paper Award at Pervasive Health'09
Marco de Sá was distinguished with the Best Student Paper Award Sponsored by NOKIA at the 3rd International Conference on Pervasive Computing Technologies for Healthcare 2009, with his work Mobile Support for Personalized Therapies - OmniSCOPE: Richer Artefacts and Data Collection, co-authored with Prof. Luís Carriço.
Informania - once again, senior undergraduates from the department put up together an event with debates and company presentations inteded for strengthening ties and foster partnerships through joint supervision of student internships (and, of course, recruiting new talent).
